The Cross-IX service, a collaboration enabling networks to peer across key European peering hubs using just one connection, has taken a major step forward. From today, the service is now available outbound from AMS-IX, to Netnod IX in Stockholm and to MIX in Milan. With this service, our members and customers in Amsterdam can expand their reach to the Nordics or Italy connecting directly to Netnod IX or MIX and exchanging traffic with hundreds of unique networks via one simple connection.

Cross-IX provides a simple solution to reach the major connectivity hubs in Europe via a single VLAN without the need for additional hardware or arrangement of transport. All connections can be managed via one single contract and can be provisioned on an existing (or new) port. Now, Cross-IX is available between AMS-IX Amsterdam and Netnod IX and between AMS-IX Amsterdam and MIX, with other connectivity hubs to follow soon.
