AMS-IX NEWS
AMS-IX
29 August 2019
Security is one of the cornerstones within our organisation hence we are pleased to announce, that effective as of today, AMS-IX has DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC) enabled for all the public (forward) domains it hosts.
Domain Name Servers (DNS) maintain a directory of domain names and translate them to Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. DNSSEC provides a level of additional security where the web browser can check to make sure the DNS information is correct and was not modified. On the plus side, DNSSEC is not only indented for the web, but also can be used by any other Internet service or protocol.
Well done to our Information Security and System Operations teams for their continuous efforts!
