SCION, short for Scalability, Control and Isolation on Next Generation Networks, introduces path aware networking with cryptographic path validation. This allows endpoints and network operators to select and verify the exact paths their traffic takes across the network. The result is greater control, improved transparency, and increased resilience for latency sensitive and mission critical services.

Our SCION exchange in Amsterdam connects SURF, SIDN Labs, Varity and Anapaya in a dedicated environment where SCION runs alongside traditional BGP peering. Participants can evaluate real world performance, operational models and interoperability at Internet Exchange scale.

This is enabled by our Juniper based platform, which provides the programmability and performance required to support new architectures while maintaining the reliability of existing services.
